Writers of the Ciceron RC Combined School
My students absolutely loves writing. I instill in them that they are all authors which encourages them to write more. They write me letters and short stories. One day their work will be bound and published.

Hello Keyanie
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you encourage your students to be writers. Developing a community of writers in your classroom is important as students need to be told that they are authors and they are developing the skills of proficient writers. Keep it up!
Just one correction - you meant that one day their work will be "bound" and published, right?
I can agree, however i still think that many times we develop the students writing skills based on story writing etc in language arts. but i believe in the integration approach where one can use students knowledge in other subjects to write freely and express themselves based on the knowledge that they have acquired in that subject. This will only enhance the students understanding and whilst they are doing this they are becoming better at writing.
DeleteI love the picture, its worth a thousand words.
ReplyDeleteI do support your idea of instilling the importance of writing in the students keep striving Keyanie.
Mould the future!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of publishing their writing. It would only give the students a purpose to write more and write well..Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteThe students are the future. I believe it is important to inculcate in our students the right attitude towards writing from an early age.

ReplyDeleteI just could not leave your post without leaving a comment because it is in keeping with my views for emerging writers. I am in full support of promoting and empowering our young writers from a tender age. It cannot be overlooked that they are tomorrow's future. The encouragement for writing should be emphasized from now. Great Job Keyanie!!!

Great job Keyanie this definitely says that Miss Polius is doing an exceptional job with us as we are transferring what is being taught in the classroom to our students. Let us constantly remind them they are authors. I am sure that this will assist them in becoming proficient writers.
ReplyDeleteCool. Well said Carina. I would like to add that not only will our students be proficient writers but also we ourselves.
